Space is very limited for this trip, but we plan to do more activities like this in the future.
Hike, campfire, and stargazing
This Paul Lake adventure itinerary, designed by TRU Adventure Studies students for the Programming Experiential Activities course (ADVG 4040), offers a well-rounded evening of outdoor exploration, team-building, and skill development. Starting with a gear check and safety briefing at Thompson Rivers University (TRU), participants will head to Paul Lake for a series of engaging activities.
A scenic hike to Gibraltar Rock will provide stunning sunset views, followed by stargazing, snacks, and hot beverages under the night sky. The adventure concludes with a peaceful night hike back to the bus and a return to TRU. This trip promises a blend of learning, outdoor fun, and group camaraderie.
If the skies are clear, it will be an amazing opportunity to look at the night sky. A professor of physics will be on hand to facilitate the use of a telescope.
Use stargazing apps (Star Walk 2, Sky Safari). Physics professor, Colin Taylor, will host a telescope session.
