Description

Floating down the South Thompson River is a great way to cool off and enjoy the river. Roller skating at River Side Park is a lot of fun, especially as you watch the sunset over the meeting of the rivers and the waterfront skating track is illuminated with outdoor lighting.

Meet at Riverside Park, head over to Pioneer Boat Launch. We’ll get you geared up, and a safety kayaker accompanies your group on the river back to Riverside Park.

At Riverside Park you will have the opportunity to enjoy the roller-skating track with skate rentals included.

The Experience

Your adventure begins at Okanagan Affordable Rentals at Riverside Park.

Participants check in, complete the required waiver and are fitted with a lifejacket.

Once everyone is ready, the group walks together (about 10 minutes) along the pathway from Riverside Park to Pioneer Park.

While the group walks, Okanagan Affordable Rentals transports all paddleboards, kayaks, paddles and required equipment to Pioneer Park.

Staff and equipment will meet the group there.

At Pioneer Park, participants receive their final instructions and safety briefing.

Everyone launches and travels together down the South Thompson River, finishing back at Riverside Park.

Each group will be accompanied on the river by kayak safety guides.

approximately 30–45 minutes on the river, everyone arrives back at Riverside Park.

Participants return their paddling equipment and have approximately 20 minutes to warm up, enjoy their included refreshments and get ready for roller skating.
